Hotel Torres San Carlos

I won't stay here again. There are needless rules about not playing music or bringing drinks and snacks into the garden, even though there's a club right next door. The owner kept walking around watching what guests were doing, which felt really uncomfortable, and the receptionist had a terrible attitude toward us and other guests. I had to repost this because they threatened not to return my deposit unless I deleted the review. People should know that before booking.

The Sea of Cortez views and atmosphere are great, and the place was clean and very reasonably priced. The fine dining is upscale, with a great cellar and signature drinks mixed just right. Wait staff were attentive without hovering. Definitely worth seeing if you're in San Carlos.

It's a fantastic, clean, safe, friendly place, and I walked the beach for miles every day. There's a nice restaurant with good food, plus a bar right on the water where you can watch dolphins. They have Sunday brunch and frequent entertainment, with food and drinks served overlooking the water. Local vendors also bring their goods to sell.

It's an old, run-down hotel in a hostile environment. I understand the American owner is dealing with a Mexican family's adverse possession claim, and the legal effort to regain the property is still moving through the slow Mexican court system. I suspect the family's responsible for the good ratings. I'd recommend staying anywhere else.
