Hotel San Carlos Plaza

The rooms were just okay, but they're fine if you're only planning to sleep there. The hotel has pools and water slides for both adults and kids. It's right on the beach, and the service was excellent throughout, especially at the breakfast buffet. Ruben, one of the servers, was outstanding and attentive.

Hotel Plaza San Carlos has enough on site that you don't really need to go anywhere else, though it's a little far from San Carlos. There's its own mall, restaurants, a private beach, and pools with water slides. It's a good hotel for people who want to spend the day there. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and service was very good, if sometimes a little slow.

The one thing this hotel has going for it is the location. It's very old and run down. There was no hot running water; maintenance fixed it after we called the first night, but after that we had to call every time we wanted to shower. The tub sat very high above the floor, and I took a really bad fall getting out.

We were told before arriving that the central air system had a problem. Even with a few mishaps during our stay, the whole staff's kindness and service put our concerns to rest. The service was excellent, and the morning and afternoon front desk crews were very nice to us. I'd recommend this place to everyone.
