Hotel El Dorado Hermosillo

The rooms have always been clean, and the food is excellent and made to order. I usually stay at the Holiday Inn, but I prefer the restaurant at El Dorado and its more local feel. The price and service are worth it. Just make sure your airport transportation is actually scheduled so they don’t forget. I think you’ll be pleased with El Dorado over a corporate option. 10 out of 10!

The main problem was getting from the airport. I had confirmed my late arrival several times and was told it would be fine, but when my flight landed at 11:40pm on a Thursday, nobody was there. I couldn’t get a clear answer from the front desk about the driver. The taxi stand had closed and everyone else had left, so I was stranded outside the airport. That’s unacceptable. If you know the area or speak Spanish more fluently, maybe you’d manage better. I’d take a cab or choose somewhere else. The room itself was clean, the bed was decent, breakfast was good for a “free” hotel breakfast, and wifi was fast. The walls are thin, so you hear other guests. It’s an okay hotel overall and could suit someone comfortable getting around in Spanish who wants to save on the room.

The room was clean, and breakfast came included at no extra cost. The hotel also offered a ride to the airport, though we didn’t end up using it. The hotel was okay.

The pool was useless for us, especially with kids. It was freezing even though it was 98 degrees outside. The hotel looks newly remodeled, and the interior design and architecture are great, but the construction, furniture, equipment, and amenities all feel very low quality. We had to stop at the front desk to get the key cards remagnetized every time we went back to our room. Hygiene was very poor. The bathrooms, rooms, towels, and blankets weren’t clean, and under the beds and around the toilets looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in ages. It was a completely unsatisfactory, very bad experience. Even the front desk manager, Hugo, seemed far from qualified for management.
