The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable, but there wasn’t much nearby. The hotel is quite far from town, so expect to walk or take taxis. The kitchen had no utensils or even cups. Although the listing mentioned a coffee maker, coffee was only available at reception, and the young woman working there usually didn’t appear until 10am. So, no morning coffee. The Wi-Fi was nearly useless and the pool was dirty. There wasn’t much service or care here.

We loved the quiet setting and the pool and rooftop were gorgeous. The nearby beaches were great, and it was a nice change to stay in a calmer part of town. Cycling into town was easy. Our room was spacious and clean, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Big shout-out to Aurora, who went out of her way to make the stay special. We got far more than we expected for the price. We’ll be telling everyone heading to Holbox about this place. Thank you!

The rooftop view was amazing, and the pool had plenty of spots to sit around it. Beds and pillows were comfy, too. There’s a little kitchen for making breakfast, bike rental was cheap, and the shower was the best I’ve had in ages, hot water straight away and strong pressure.

The room was ready when we arrived at noon, so we got to check in early. It was lovely and had everything we needed. They’d decorated the bed with balloons and a cake made from towels for my birthday, such a sweet surprise that made my day. Carla was a wonderful host from the start. She sent tips and suggestions for lunch, dinner, and tours when I asked. Casa del Sol is two blocks from the beach and some fun beach clubs and restaurants where you can get breakfast or lunch. It’s outside the busy tourist area, so it’s peaceful. Getting downtown takes a bike ride or a taxi. We came to Holbox for my birthday weekend and wanted somewhere cozy and nice near the beach, and this worked really well. Good prices, too. Highly recommended!

I felt safe staying here on my own, and the apartment was really clean. It had a large fridge and a kitchen with a stove, plus an ocean view from my balcony. The pool was refreshing as well. Carla, the lovely owner, did everything she could to make the stay better. I had an amazing time at La Casa del Sol and would come back. Thanks so much!
