Cabañas Villa de San Miguel

We’ve visited more than five times and will be back again soon. The place is beautiful and spotless, with excellent internet, so it’s also a nice choice if you work from home. There are cabin styles for different group sizes, from rustic options for 2, 4, or 6 people to modern ones for 8, 10, or more, all with a warm, welcoming feel. It’s a great spot to recharge and relax, at a fair price for the quality. We value cleanliness most when traveling, and Cabañas San Miguel has never disappointed us. Their no-pets policy also means less noise and mess, which is a real plus. Owners and managers, please keep up the cleaning standards and continue the no-pets policy. The location worked really well, practically in the middle of Huasca’s attractions like Bosque de truchas and prismas, and about 10 minutes from downtown Huasca. We liked the atmosphere, and the place felt peaceful and cozy. Still, I would have liked better service. Nearly all the communication was over WhatsApp, with no one actually there in case we needed something. On the second day, there was no hot water because apparently someone had turned off the boiler. I was able to turn it back on, but guests shouldn’t have to check things like that. I appreciate how much trust the owner gave us, but better attention would have made the stay.

Some things could use attention. A couple of chairs we were given were broken and very unstable, and the toilet plumbing in our cabin was poor, with the tank taking a long time to refill. Getting to the “upstairs” cabins is difficult, and the road is in very bad shape, though that may not be the owners’ responsibility. The green areas also seemed poorly maintained. On the plus side, the cabins are comfortable, the hosts are incredibly welcoming, the food is delicious, and I think the price is fair.

Bring a warm jacket and pajamas, the nights get extremely cold. There’s hot water to help with that, and the fireplace is fantastic. The staff gave excellent service, and the cabin was clean and very spacious.
