Cabaña del Río

We had a pleasant stay in the cabana, and the garden was lovely for both kids and our dog. The stairs inside are really steep, though. Still, it’s a good place.

The room was roomy, with a comfortable bed and the basics all working well, including WiFi, hot water, and cable TV. It’s also close enough to the center of Huasca. Our hosts were friendly and attentive throughout. The main drawback was noise from the room above and the stairs beside ours. That seemed mostly to come from other guests, but it could be addressed.

Breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of it 😋, and pets are welcome. I found the cabin cozy, clean, peaceful, and lovely, with everything we needed. The staff were kind both over WhatsApp and in person, and helped me plan our outings better. I’d happily come back for the excellent service.

There’s no reception, so if you need to ask for a bag of coffee, there’s nobody to turn to. Most questions go unanswered too, except in the mornings when breakfast is served. The staff are friendly when they happen to be around, but I don’t think I’d return. The rooms are spacious, but the cleanliness was a real problem. The beds and sofa smelled bad, and under the beds was dusty when I dropped something and looked. The cleaning supplies were empty, the towels stained, and the coffee maker didn’t work.
