Forrest Hotel Huatulco

The room looked just like the online photos and was very clean when we arrived, but the receptionist greeted us with a sour, angry look. It was getting dark, so we went straight to bed, only to find the mattresses very hard and the cable TV not working. In daylight, the hotel looked neglected and even dirty, nothing like the pictures. The pool was filthy and wasn’t cleaned during our three-day stay, so we couldn’t use it. The hotel left a lot to be desired.

The room smelled strongly of mildew, and the facilities were very poor and unhygienic. The walls are drywall, so you can hear everything from the next room and can’t get proper rest. Before 7 a.m., the receptionist played music or videos loudly on her phone while guests were still sleeping. I politely asked her to turn it down, but she ignored me. The staff seemed unconcerned about guests’ comfort, and the service was disappointing. I had a bad stay at Hotel Forrest Huatulco and wouldn’t recommend it. If you want somewhere clean and comfortable where you can rest, look elsewhere. Biulu is just a few meters away. When I asked there, the service difference was obvious, and its prices were very similar, with top-notch facilities. There are other nearby hotels with much better service and facilities at similar prices, so I’d avoid Hotel Forrest.

At 3 in the morning, the man on reception was asleep with his phone volume extremely high. Because the drywall walls let every sound through, it was unbearable. I went to ask him to turn it down and had to wake him up. He lowered it, but before long he turned it back up. It felt like they didn’t care about guests’ comfort or sleep. The facilities are very poor, and the service leaves a lot to be desired. They should replace the staff with people who actually care about visitors’ well-being. I don’t recommend this place.

I don’t recommend using their cleaning service if you have valuables. After it was confirmed that other people’s clothes had been taken, I trusted them with my things and then lost a $599 skirt. What bothered me wasn’t just the loss, but how they handled it. They washed their hands of it and told me to check my belongings carefully. They wouldn’t even let me review the security camera footage to make sure their staff hadn’t taken anything. Looking through the review history, I also saw complaints about cleanliness and reservations, and descriptions that don’t match the photos. They showed no concern for the tourists they serve, covered for each other, and refused to take responsibility.
