Everything was fine, and the rooms were clean. There wasn't any hot water, though.

Don Jocha was warm and gave great service. The price is fair and the location works well, with basic rooms that are really suited to a night’s stay. Just check the bed in your assigned room before you settle in. Good luck!

Mr. Jocha stood out for being professional, friendly, and ready to help tourists with what they need. The hostel is aimed at backpackers and is in a quiet, safe area, about 10 minutes from the beach and 5 from the main shopping area. They're renovating and expanding at the moment, so inspect the room before checking in. Good value in such a touristy city.

The owners are really friendly, and there’s air conditioning. Beds and pillows are on the hard side, though. If you're after a cheap place in the hotel zone, this is probably the best option, about a 15-minute walk from the beach. I'd pick an upstairs room since it's noisy downstairs at all hours. Downtown Huatulco also has hotels at a similar price with excellent quality.
