Hotel Maria Isabel De Iguala

At 3 a.m., a cockroach woke me up by crawling on "MY FACE." I spent almost an hour trying to find it, killed it, and then discovered many small ones. I'll upload photos and a video. I told the front desk, but the staff member was a bit rude and said nothing useful. I got no apology, no refund, nothing, just a "Have a nice stay" and that was it. I really don't recommend this hotel, especially if you expect decent customer service. The rooms and mattress were average, and the bathroom was uncomfortable. The hotel isn't cheap, around average price. Staff weren't very friendly or attentive, though they weren't rude in general.

The location is central and the service is good, but this is a simple hotel with small rooms, old bedding and towels, a musty smell, a tiny bathroom, an old mattress, and no hot water around the clock. For that price, it was too much. On Sundays, noise from a bar was a problem. The restaurant opens at 8 a.m., despite advertising a 7 a.m. opening. And the pool is really just a wading pool. NOT RECOMMENDED.

The hotel is in the center, the price isn't too high, and the service is good. The restaurant food is delicious. My only concern is the shower, which has no handrails. That could lead to a fall and makes showering difficult for older people.

The main draw is the location, right downtown and just steps from shops and restaurants. It's an older hotel, so keep your expectations modest. There's a very noisy bar next door, too. I couldn't take an afternoon nap because of it, so bear that in mind.
