Hotel Parador Del Rio

It felt like stepping back into the 70s. The staff were helpful and tried to sort out everything I asked for, but the building is in such bad technical shape that I can't recommend this hotel.

Really good service, and the place is clean.

The rooms are dusty, the furniture and general look are old, and the bathroom water smells bad. Every so often, a pump on the second floor starts up and makes a lot of noise. The parking area is small and takes some maneuvering, though there are enough spaces and it feels safe. The price is fair, but there's a lot to weigh before staying. The location is very good, and the staff are friendly, but service has its problems. The bellboy is constantly bothering guests, and even if you've got your key, they ask each time you come in whether you're staying there. Shift changes seem poorly communicated. Breakfast looks like a buffet but has very little to choose from. Staff serve standard portions, with lots of beans, and let you take only one piece of fruit. Reception said there was juice, but it's flavored water, with a different flavor each day.

Everything was in order while I was there, and the staff were excellent. I had a very good stay and would recommend the place.
