Stain Loft & Suites

The morning staff were kind and concerned when I told them what had happened, and the building itself has potential with reasonably nice rooms. But getting to bed was exhausting. My room on the second floor had no towels or sheets, and the desk couldn't find me any, so I had to retrieve them from the first room. The toilet wouldn't flush, the smoke detector chirped all night, and none of the pillows had cases. The trouble started with no hot water in the third-floor room. I let it run for at least half an hour, then learned downstairs that they hadn't turned it on and it would take another 40 minutes to heat. The doors were another problem: the first wouldn't close or lock, and I could push it open from outside without a key. The room across the hall had the same issue. The third room, on the second floor, had a door that worked a little better, but still wasn't right. I asked if they could have hot water ready in the morning, since by then it was too late for a shower. It makes me wonder whether I was the only guest trying to shower then. The night desk staff didn't apologize or seem to recognize how much hassle this was. It feels like maintenance has slipped, and maybe the building is settling, since the locks aren't working. I don't know whether that has to do with new management or an owner. All the problems together made for a frustrating stay.
