The buffet was the weak point: limited choices, ingredients that didn't seem fresh, overcooked meat, and somewhat slow service. Even so, it's a great place for work events. The restaurant looks stunning, with amazing decor, and the setting works really well for meetings and professional events.

The room rate is around $140 a night, but they negotiated mine down to $84 since I'm here on a customer's behalf. They seem quite open to negotiating. Room service brings meals from the kitchen, which is nice. The beds are firm; the pillows are too fluffy for my taste, and the towels are rough. Toiletries are nice, the bar soap dries out my skin, and the shampoo and conditioner are good. The shower heads aren't great, so I brought my own. The gym is small but has a variety of equipment. The main pool is about 10 by 5 feet and 4.5 feet deep, while the kids' pool is around 3 feet deep and only 3 by 5 feet. Pool temperature depends on the outdoor temperature. It's usually very warm unless the water has just been changed, then it's cool.

I was only there a short time, but the rooms were nice, with comfortable beds and pillows. The room had a pleasant floral smell. The staff were nice, and it works well for business travel.

My taller coworkers said the bed was too short, though I'm 5'9" and enjoyed it. If you're tall, this might not be the place for you. I had a great time at Holiday Inn Irapuato, with a nicely appointed room and very friendly, helpful staff.
