Arte Sano Hotel & Spa - Only Adults

Holbox won me over, and I’ll definitely stay here again. I loved this small hotel, tucked into a quiet area with lots of vegetation. The beach is about a three-minute walk away, and there’s a small bakery and a fruit and vegetable shop nearby. I appreciated having a five-gallon water container in the room. I also bought a package that included swimming with whale sharks, bioluminescence, and 12 hours’ use of their bikes. Breakfast offered a good variety, though it was just OK for me since there were no vegetables.

The rooms were clean and rustic, with some character. The air conditioning and Wi-Fi worked well, and the large bottle of water, which was refilled during our stay, and the refrigerator were useful. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was nice. The location was quiet but close to the island’s best beach area, the town center, and several good restaurants. We had a great five days and would definitely come back.

The pool area could use some work too: every chair was partly broken, and the pool seemed dirty. Still, with the sea so close and nobody using the pool, it wasn’t a big deal for me.

There are only six rooms, so the place feels personal, and the staff made us feel welcome from the start. They were wonderful with our family, especially our son, and nothing felt like too much trouble. Our room was spacious, with a great balcony looking over the pool, which was perfect for a dip after time at the beach and in the sun. The food was a real plus. Holbox food can be expensive, so having breakfast and dinners covered was great, even though we’re neither vegan nor vegetarian. The place feels warm and friendly, almost like staying with family. Beachfront hotels are an option too, and you can get a day pass for that experience. Thank you for taking such good care of us. We’re happy to recommend this unique, family-friendly place.
