We liked the stylish room and the very central location. The front desk guy who works from 9 to 5 was super nice and speaks perfect English, but the other staff were unfriendly and couldn't speak English. The main problem was the noise. The rooms have poor soundproofing, and the rooftop bar plays very loud techno from 5 pm until midnight. We couldn't get any rest, so we wouldn't recommend staying here.

I had a great stay. My room was ready at 11am even though check-in is after 3pm, and it had a hammock, fridge, and everything I needed. It was on the top floor, so be aware there’s no elevator and you’ll carry your bags up the stairs. Reception is on the street level just to the left. I usually choose quiet rooms, and I didn't hear noise from the rooftop bar in mine, though there is music up there. One night I heard street music, but it didn't last long. The place was generally quiet. The hot water took a few minutes to come through, but it did. Holbox itself is relaxing, too. I really enjoyed it!

The rooftop has a lovely view, and the drinks were good. The food was disappointing, though. I tried the al pastor shrimp tacos and they reminded me of a US high school lunch. Not great.

Ida at reception was really helpful. She let us check in early and gave us a quick rundown of things to do on the Islands. The rooms felt new, were well kept and cozy, with decent space and a nice atmosphere. There's room for luggage, plus a TV, AC, ceiling fan, and safe. The keypad locks meant we didn't have to carry a key. A beach towel is available to borrow with a 100MXN deposit. The hotel is right across from parque central, up a flight of stairs. You can walk to lots of restaurants, and the beach is about 5 minutes away. There's a rooftop restaurant and bar with a pool, though we didn't get to try them. The receptionist can arrange a free day pass at their sister beach resort, Villas Flamingoes, on the northeast side of the island. It's open 11-6, but getting there can be a hassle, especially with mosquitoes. After rain, take a taxi, since the roads are not bike able AT ALL. The rooftop bar played music until around 11pm, but it wasn't too loud. I'd stay here again if I come back to Holbox.

We just visited the rooftop bar, not the hotel. The view takes in the city center and the nearby beach, and there's a pool in the middle that fits 12 people for paddling. The drinks were great, though a little expensive for the area.
