Maria's Kan Kin with Private Beach

Maria's is in a quieter part of the island, with a few nearby places to eat and plenty of beach clubs. We also walked about 20 minutes into the locals' town for dinner a few times, where food was cheaper and felt more authentic than at the nearby establishments. Try Bastos. Our beachfront room was on the second floor, right above Loretta's, the new restaurant and small beach club where breakfast is served. It was a beautiful setting, and the a la carte breakfast was tasty. We heard some noise from the restaurant, but it closed around 9 or 10pm, so it wasn't a problem for us. The two nearby piers had plenty of fish for a pleasant snorkel, especially in the morning when visibility was better. We also liked having free kayaks and a SUP. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were lovely, and after four nights we felt well rested.

The private beach was small, but it stayed uncrowded. This is a lovely boutique hotel, with caring service and good food at the restaurant on site.

Lily was the highlight of our stay at Maria’s Kan-Kin. She picked us up from the ferry, called the local taxi stand when we needed it, and helped arrange our golf cart rental. She felt like family away from home, especially like an aunt, and made the trip so much more enjoyable. Her dog, Dea, is wonderful too. The hotel is tucked in a convenient, quiet spot on Isla, close to local restaurants with amazing food and drinks. Our room was clean, we had hot water, and the chamber maid left cold water bottles each day. We also had a phenomenal view of the private beach, where we could relax without a thousand other beachgoers around. We had a remarkable time and hope to return soon. If it's your first visit to Isla, this is a great place to stay, and renting a golf cart by the day makes getting around easy.

Lillian looked after us so well, and the hospitality was amazing. Such a beautiful hotel, we're already looking forward to staying again.
