Mia Reef Isla Mujeres - All Inclusive

For a day pass, I'd arrive around 9:00 so you can make the most of the day. The service is great, and they can set up beach umbrellas if you need them. Breakfast is available, and lunch on the grill was really good, with lobster, octopus, and steak. I sipped cucumber margaritas throughout the day. I'm local, and even though it's a small hotel, it doesn't feel crowded, so you can relax in peace. The downside is that the pass only runs from 9 to 18:00. I'd definitely come back.

The atmosphere at Hotel Mia made our trip special, and we had an amazing time. Our suites were spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The staff were warm and happy to help, with detailed tips on places to see and things to do around the island. Food was excellent too, with lots of consistently delicious choices throughout our stay. Everything exceeded our expectations, and I'll definitely return soon. Highly recommend!

We left after only about three hours because the food and room were so disappointing, and when I left, staff asked me to write down why the experience had failed even though I'd already explained it all. The room itself was in poor shape: the door was old and worn, there was a noticeable smell, the sheets were stained, and the pillows had marks that looked like bodily fluid. The window looked out onto a stained white wall. The bathroom was tiny with very little ventilation. The property badly needs renovation, and the room had no soundproofing, so hallway footsteps and slamming doors were clear throughout our stay. When we arrived at Mia Reef Resort, the dated condition was already obvious, and the lobby was cluttered with suitcases as guests waited for rooms. Luckily, ours was ready, so we didn't have to wait after a long travel day. I went to the front desk to ask for a different room, but they only offered an upgrade for an extra charge. After feeling misled by the online photos, that seemed unfair. The staff member then walked six feet away, laughed in Spanish with her supervisor and another person, and made fun of us for being a gay couple. I speak fluent Spanish. The food was bland and unappetizing. I also saw a chef use the same tongs for cooked pasta and raw shrimp, which raised serious concerns for me about food safety and hygiene. The resort didn't meet basic expectations for cleanliness, comfort, or honesty in its advertising.

The ocean views were breathtaking, with clear water just a short distance away and good snorkeling right there. We also liked how easy it was to get into town for an evening walk. The resort stayed spotless, and we didn't have to get up early to claim pool loungers, which was a nice change. The people at the buffet were a big part of what made Mia Reef Resort memorable. JC, Efrain, and Jerry were friendly, attentive, and made every meal feel welcoming. The rooms could use some updating and felt a little run down, but the staff and the rest of the resort more than made up for that. The food was excellent, even if we'd have liked a little more variety. We had a lovely stay and can't wait to return.
