WorldMark Isla Mujeres - WorldMark Resort

The pool was really nice, and every staff interaction we had was great. We liked the mid-island location too, and the room had plenty of space, the amenities we needed, a firm bed we liked, effective blackout shutters, and a nice balcony. The drinks at the pool bar weren't for us, though. The room is showing its age. We couldn't work out the somewhat modern TV and had to call for help. The channel box was behind the TV, so changing channels meant getting up and pointing the remote around back. On our last day it stopped working altogether, and we had no idea why. There were broken blinds and a bathroom window that wouldn't close. We were on the third floor, so that wasn't a major concern except for the noise. It was noisy up on the top floor, too. For hours one afternoon, every few minutes, we heard what sounded like furniture being dragged across the floor. And the island's gas golf carts are really loud. The doors and windows don't seal well, so we could hear all of that. This was the worst Worldmark we've stayed at.

We spent a lovely day relaxing by the pool, taking in the views and the great weather. The resort is right in the middle of the island, and many restaurants are an easy walk away. We rented a golf cart for a day and drove all around the island. Loved it!

The pool was peaceful and relaxing, and our studio suite was clean and nice. It's a basic place for a quiet vacation rather than a party spot. We enjoyed staying here. There's no kitchen in the studio, just a mini fridge and microwave. We picked up sandwich supplies for our first night, and that and some water was about all we could fit in the fridge. The pool bar service was down while we were there, so we went elsewhere around the island for drinks. We stayed through a timeshare, so I can't speak to the room price or value. The central spot worked perfectly for us, with neither the north nor south end too far away. We could book a golf cart through the front desk just 24 hours ahead, and every employee was extremely helpful with anything we needed. If you're after a clean, simple place in central Isla Mujeres with great service, this suited us well.

The quick, helpful replies by text were a real bright spot. The accommodations themselves were fine, but breakfast was frustrating: there was no toaster in our unit, and we were told the whole resort shares only two. Getting here with a toddler was harder than we expected. Although the need to take a ferry had been mentioned, the schedule was limited and inconvenient, so we had to work our arrival and departure around it. We wish we had asked more before booking. With a toddler, we might have picked a more family-friendly resort with easier access and more conveniences in the room. This could work well for couples or small groups without young children or elderly travelers. For families, a place like WorldMark Cancun would probably be a better choice.
