The staff made a huge difference for us, especially Claudia, Omar, and Karen. They were some of the kindest, most attentive people we met and kept going out of their way to help throughout the trip. Meals felt relaxed too, never like we were eating in a crowded room or being hurried along. The food was really good, though I sometimes wished there were another distinctive lunch or dinner choice. Almare is on the smaller side, which means fewer people around than at larger resorts. I’d recommend it if you want a quieter, more intimate adults only stay.

The private boat between the marina and hotel was such a convenient touch, and Almare had everything organized before we arrived, so there wasn’t much to worry about. We were there over Easter weekend, and from the welcome drink onward, the place felt like a different world. The staff were warm and helpful all the way through. Rodrigo, Karen, and Liz stood out, though everyone we met was lovely. I felt a bit under the weather for part of the stay, and they offered to take me to a walk-in clinic and brought meals to me. That kindness meant a lot. The food was delicious, with plenty of options and just-right portions. We had a great stay and will come back.

We rented out all of Almare with a large group in early February 2026, and the beach team made that part of the trip especially memorable. Alejandro, Edgar, Claudia, and Karen looked after my wife and me so well that we kept coming back to the cabanas. They were attentive, kind, and engaging. Great music played through the day, and the staff generally had lovely personalities. The food had a fresh, culturally grounded feel, from its presentation to the flavors. Since the resort was fully booked by our group, the menu changed each night, which we enjoyed. That might not happen on an ordinary visit, though the buffet choices rotated and were consistently good too. Our room was clean and thoughtfully laid out, with nice ambient lighting and small touches we appreciated. The bracelet room key was comfortable and easy to wear, just don’t tighten it too much. A couple of room things needed attention: the toilet chain came loose and had to be reattached, and the shower temperature handle felt worn and loose. Service also varied away from the beach. Some servers, including at the rooftop bar, didn’t seem sure what was on the menu. At Seasalt, our server didn’t tell us about a specialty menu that we later saw offered at other tables. We’d already ordered by then. There are day clubs nearby, so noise may depend on where your room is. Ours looked toward the pool with a partial ocean view, and we liked it. We rented a golf cart to see town, but mostly wanted to return to the resort, which had what we needed. It’s a beautiful place with plenty of food and drink options. Thanks again to the beach crew for making the trip special.

The beach was our choice every day, and there were always chairs available. The pools looked nice, though we didn’t use them. Almare was calm and never too busy, and I felt safe there throughout. Staff called taxis promptly whenever we wanted to explore the island. The team were kind and attentive our whole stay. On the beach, they cleared used cups and came by to take drink orders; the beach bar and lobby bar staff were friendly and helpful too. I enjoyed the drinks, and stopped by the cafe daily. We also had room service several times, plus meals at Boga, the pool bar & grill, and Seasalt on the rooftop. The food was great, and Seasalt had my favorite atmosphere. Try to have dinner there around sunset at least once. We also took a Molcajete cooking class, which was fun. I wish we’d had time for more resort activities, but we had plans to see the island as well. Our room was clean and luxurious, with everything we needed. Housekeeping and room service quickly brought anything else we asked for. The cleaning request button by the door was convenient. We arrived by boat at the private dock and were greeted warmly with drinks. The resort is stunning and made for a relaxing vacation. One small beach note: there are rocks for about the first ten steps, then seaweed, and after that clean sand. Water shoes would help; I just put up with the discomfort for those first steps. I’d happily recommend Almare for a vacation on Isla Mujeres, and we’d love to return.

The property and location are stunning, and the food and drinks were great, especially for an all inclusive. Portions are quite small, but the quality is good. We had a good stay and vacation, though management and customer service held the experience back. There were a lot of excuses and little effort to resolve problems, whether at check-in, with the room, housekeeping, or reservations.
