Hotel Villas Ema

After a sleepless night in an apartment in the Centro, I moved to Villas Ema on my second day and was so much happier. It was calm and quiet, and the service was really friendly. The beach is only a block away, so it was easy to get there without being caught up in all the parties. I loved coming back for a float in the quiet pool or sitting on my balcony with the view and having a drink in the evening. I’ll definitely return.

Clean, simple, and relaxing, with a lovely balcony view and a pool. The A/c worked great, and I got the room for about a third of what other hotels cost, so it felt like a really good deal. La Ropa beach is just two minutes away, and some good restaurants are walkable. There’s also a shared kitchen, plus a taxi stand right next door with posted prices. My WiFi was decent enough to get through one video work call. Happy with my choice!

We were looking for somewhere for our honeymoon and, after speaking with Josh, were told a room was available. We were asked to send the payment by international money transfer. We hesitated, but were assured the booking confirmation would arrive as soon as they received the money. It never came, even though the payment had gone through. We asked for our money back within 24 hours and got no response. I found this very disappointing and unprofessional. I would not recommend staying here or booking if you want to feel sure your reservation is secure. This is a small privately owned hotel, but this experience has made me less willing to support small businesses when they behave dishonestly.

The views were great, and the location near Playa La Ropa worked really well, with lots of restaurants nearby. The staff were wonderful and friendly.
