Getting around by bus was super easy, and we saved a lot using it for excursions. Make sure you get a massage up the beach to the right, looking out at the water, above the restaurant ladies in green shirts. Worth every penny/peso! The rooms were kind of small, and some towels and toiletries were missing when we arrived. Cristina, who cleaned our room, topped everything up and always did a great job. The buffet food wasn't for me, it felt like leftovers from the night before, but George was welcoming, helpful, and always greeted us with a smile. The ladies checking guests in for the buffet were friendly too. Christina, who we usually saw at the lobby side bar, always went above and beyond and greeted us with a smile. The daily activities and entertainment got repetitive. George's morning bike tour was nice, and he also led aquafit and zumba, but the repeated whistle blowing during aquafit was not so nice. On the first day, I thought there was an emergency before realizing it would happen every day for the next 10 days of our stay, lol. The resort was full of kids, which isn't what we'd pick as adults traveling together to relax. We had a great time overall and would definitely return to Ixtapa, but maybe not this resort. It's a great choice for families, less so for a couple friends looking for a quiet break.

Last Friday, the hotel was completely closed because of a strike, and they hadn't contacted me beforehand to cancel. I was furious when I arrived. Luckily, Megan Lopez was outside helping guests who had booked for that day. I'd give the hotel zero stars, but Megan deserves FIVE for calling around and negotiating a better price so I could rebook at a nearby hotel. Thank you, Megan. Otherwise, I'd have been stuck on a busy Friday night without speaking any Spanish.

The rooms and food were good, and the stay was nice overall. But I had a bad experience I hope nobody else has. Be careful when checking out pool towels and leaving them in your room. The cleaning ladies may take them, and then the hotel will try to charge you for them.

The beach is only steps away, and restaurants and shops are within walking distance. The rooms are clean, in good condition, and the staff are great, though the rooms do show their age. The only downside was very loud music every night until 11 pm.

This is shameful. Two hours before my daughter's check-out, hotel staff stole my daughter's and my son-in-law's wallets. It was a really bad experience.
