The room was crawling with spiders, we found around six, and the place was very dirty. The floors, bedrooms, and nearly every area needed cleaning. The food wasn’t good, and it felt like there weren’t enough staff. No one seemed fully aware of the guests. The pool was okay, but awful 70’s music played the whole time.

There’s no elevator, so even though it’s just two stories, anyone who has trouble with stairs may want to avoid the place. The rooms didn’t look as nice inside as the exterior did. Breakfast was okay, and people in my group mentioned holes in the walls and similar problems. The envelope for the room key card said to leave valuables at the front desk when leaving the room so they could put them in a safe. That seemed odd since there was already a safe in the room. Stairs aren’t a problem for me, but they might be for some guests.

The location is great, but the building is so old and badly in need of upgrades. Everything feels old.

If you book through the website, make sure you get a receipt for what you paid. We were charged for the room and breakfast, but the next day they said breakfast hadn’t been paid for. We had no receipt, although our credit card showed the payment. They still demanded more money after we’d already overpaid, which was unacceptable. We’ll stay somewhere else on our next visit to La Paz.

The location is excellent, and the rooms are standard. The front desk staff and maids were friendly and great. At the pool, though, the waiters didn’t come over to take our order, so we had to find them. One waiter also overcharged us for breakfast, but fixed it quickly.
