We wanted somewhere peaceful to read and enjoy the sun, and the rooftop was perfect for that. The pool was nice for cooling off, and the whole property has a relaxed, private feel, with no large hotels around. Casa Kootenay sits right on the beach, with a clean, roomy bedroom and a very comfortable kingsize bed. There’s a full outdoor kitchen for cooking or keeping snacks. Breakfast was made fresh each day: fruit salad, cereal, a Mexican dish, and dessert. The coffee was excellent, and the fruit juices came from fruit trees on the property. The host offered plenty of tour options and great restaurant choices within walking distance. Bikes, paddle boards, and kayaks were available free of charge. The service was excellent and well worth the money. We highly recommend it and will be back!

Everything I read about Casa Kootney in the overviews, which I always check before writing a review, turned out to be true and beyond what I expected. For a BnB, it earns five stars in its class. I had the Purcell room, which was just right for me and had very good coffee. I bring my own natural sweetener and powdered cream when traveling, so I didn’t use the provided additives. I chose daily tidying, and my room was taken care of nicely by the time breakfast was over. Alma, a sweet and kind lady of the kitchen, made traditional breakfasts with a different option each day, plus Continental style if you prefer. The location was fantastic for me. Google took me through the one ways, which are common in Mx, and I found parking easily each day. I was close to the Malecon and the road out to and past The famous beach. I had a group join me for the day to see Whale Sharks. Leanne, the kind owner, suggested Eduardo's Tours, and he picked us up at the beach. It was a fantastic Whale Shark opportunity. We were welcome to use the social areas while waiting before and after the tour.

We loved the sunsets from the roof deck, looking out over the ocean, and cooling off in the pool. The accommodations and location at Casa Kootenay were just what we wanted. Leeanne was super nice, and we got to use the kayaks too. Definitely recommend!

We had a great stay. The B&B had a fun vibe, was in a great spot, and clearly had a thoughtful host looking after it. I’d recommend it. Booking through their website gets you the best rate 👍

The sunsets here are out of this world, and the breakfast is great. The location is excellent, right on the beach. I’ve stayed several times, and Leeanne has always been a great host with lots of knowledge about the area. It feels safe to visit.
