We booked the Deluxe Suite with a private jacuzzi, but flies and bees during the day and lots of mosquitoes at night kept us from using it properly. The man at checkout was extremely friendly, congratulated us on our baby, and wished us safe travels. I wish he’d been there when we arrived, because things might have felt very different. We booked that same morning, and before confirming, called specifically to check if our two month old baby could come. We were told children don’t usually stay there, but our baby was authorized and they’d make a special arrangement. We felt appreciated and confident about choosing the property, especially since we’d also told the concierge we were celebrating my birthday. The welcome was the opposite of what we expected. The woman who came out to greet us looked visibly unhappy, didn’t smile, and felt unwelcoming. She immediately said the website didn’t allow babies and that, since the property was fully booked, all the other guests would need to be told about our baby in case it cried. She even asked if the baby was going to cry. A two month old can cry, it’s their only way to communicate. We felt uncomfortable and unwelcome from the start. We brought this up with the concierge, who apologized and confirmed an exception had been authorized. They said they never meant to make us feel unwelcome. The woman later apologized to my husband, but the damage was done. First impressions matter, and a smile and a professional approach would have changed everything. We chose to spend our money there because we’d been assured our baby was allowed and we were welcome. What should have been a birthday celebration left us angry and unwelcome.

We spent two nights here to get a quick look around La Paz. The rooms are new and very clean, and ours had a full-size fridge. There’s no front desk, but the online concierge was excellent and replied really quickly. The AC worked very well. There’s a nice sitting area and a small pool to cool off in. It was quiet at night, and we felt safe walking around after dark. The location makes it easy to get around on foot. The Malacon is a couple of blocks away, lovely for a walk in the morning or evening when it’s cooler. Plenty of good restaurants are within walking distance. Highly recommend!

Angelica and sixto are wonderful hosts. They gave us tips, and we felt comfortable the whole time. The room was clean, fresh, and really nicely decorated. The hotel is a five minute walk to the malecón, with supermarkets and restaurants nearby. It felt like a real Mexican experience and was one of the nicest stays we’ve had. Absolutely a lovely place in la Paz.
