Casa Marfil - Hostel

I loved this really nice hostel. It looks like a super vintage old house.

I booked two rooms through Booking.com. One was spacious and nice; the other less so, though I found both acceptable for the price. What really upset me was the billing. Booking.com lists the VAT and local tax separately, but when I asked Casa Marfil for an invoice, they wanted me to pay tax on top of tax again and NEVER sent the invoice. They're tax evaders, blatantly violating the General VAT Law. I would never stay here again.

For an affordable place to rest, it works well for the price, and the manager gave outstanding service. In our case, three adults were traveling together, and the amount quoted over the phone wasn't what we ended up paying in person. Be sure to get the price clearly stated on the phone. We accepted the in-person price because we believe this is the best way to save money on our trip. One helpful point for travelers like us: free parking is available after 9:00 PM, though it isn't part of the hotel's policy.

It really felt like home, and housekeeping came in the mornings. The second-floor apartment is large, with four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, though the restroom is shared. There's also a living room with a TV, a big fridge, microwave, stove, and cooking utensils. My own room had no TV, but it was very comfortable and had a king-size bed.
