Getting around can take some planning because of the location. You can rent a car, use the local collectivos, or pay for a taxi or Uber. Uber will take you there, but won’t pick you up. For me, that’s a small tradeoff for staying in the Mexican jungle. Jolie Jungle Hotel is about 45 minutes from Cancun airport, with rustic rooms surrounded by the Yucatan Peninsula’s natural beauty. We saw wild birds and animals on the property. If you want to explore nature and skip the typical all inclusive Mexico trip, this is a great place. The owners and staff were amazing, and I’ll definitely come back on future trips to the Yucatan.

We wanted a different kind of stay out in the jungle, and that’s exactly what we got. I enjoyed it quite a bit. There were birds and big sounds through the night, which I found pleasant. The bungalow was quaint and nice, though I chose it because it looked neat, not for the ECO theme. There’s a pool, a nice cabana for breakfast, and bikes if you want to get around. We arrived at 1:30 am, and as promised, someone was there to unlock the gate and show us to the bungalow. They were very friendly. For Mexico, it was nice.

Being right in the jungle made it easy to slow down and relax, and the Mexican food was delicious. The staff at Jolie Jungle were all super friendly and did their best to help with everything we needed. I really enjoyed my stay.

The family who hosts you is lovely. Dino and his wife do everything they can to make you feel at home. This place is a good way to leave the city behind and get back to basics. Jungle sounds help you unwind and feel at peace. You can take a bike out, follow the jungle paths on foot, watch birds, swim in the natural water pool, or just relax in a hammock. The food and drinks are affordable and well prepared. I even had a crystal meditation session with a French local. Go relax!

Miguel was very nice, and they were sweet about accommodating our group of three. They upgraded us to a room with four beds. The food was delicious, the pool was relaxing, and the place felt very private. Staying here reminded me of being in the jungle in Peru. Beautiful place, and I’ll come again.
