Baja Mia Suites And Tours

The marine tours were the highlight for us. We saw gray whales one day and blue whales the next, and our guides, Gaby and Enrique, were knowledgeable and passionate. They made each trip feel safe, fun, and special. Baja Mia itself was comfortable, clean, and well located. Pancho, the owner, and the rest of the team welcomed us with such warm, personal attention. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re visiting Loreto.

Baja Mia is right in the center of town, a handy base for just about anything, and we loved how easy it was to book excursions there. Our room was simple, nothing fancy, but the location was perfect; the units in the next building looked gorgeous. Monica, Pancho and Ricardo were incredible hosts, and Monica especially went out of her way to make our stay great. From arrival to departure, we had nonstop fun. Ricardo joined our whale watching trip, which became the best experience of my 62 years. The boat captain patiently waited while I got the privilege of touching a grey whale out in the Pacific Ocean. We visited Coronado Island twice because it was so beautiful, and saw Whales, Dolphins, Seals and Blue footed Boobies. We even got to swim with the Seals. The hospitality was off the charts, and we can’t wait to return to this charming, immaculate, sleepy little town.

Our blue whale watching and snorkeling trip was magical. Baja mia was very professional and made sure we had the gear we needed and lunch that worked with our dietary needs. The boat captain was knowledgeable and engaging. I’d choose them again for another excursion.

We cooked a few meals and ate on the balcony overlooking the malecón and sea. The queen bed was very comfortable, the shower pressure was fantastic, and nights were quiet enough to sleep with the patio door open at a comfortable temperature without bugs. We spent eight nights in suite 106 and plan to come back. Early December was great for avoiding crowds, except on days when cruise ships docked; they usually left before evening. Staff were available at the desk or by text and were incredibly kind and helpful. They arranged two boat tours, a rental car drop-off for a mountain day trip, and an airport pickup that let us go straight to an air-conditioned van after arriving. The place opened its new second building while we were there, and we think it’ll get very popular. Excellent value, with people who respect Loreto’s environment and culture and the nearby islands.
