The resort is beautiful, and the staff were friendly and helpful. But the whole experience with the airport presentation left a bad taste. I was told at first it was just a hotel check and breakfast, without being properly told it was a time-share presentation. They asked me to pay for the taxi back to the airport at the end of my vacation. I paid, though I would have paid for it anyway. They also promised one free tour and a discounted one, but transportation wasn't included. Getting there and back from the hotel cost me about $120, more than the tour itself. I asked to change my dates and got no response until someone said it was too late. Breakfast was average. I spent a few hours there and had some lovely chats, but the airport offer wasn't transparent or honest, and it didn't feel good. I wish people were more honest and less fake, especially with tourists in a foreign country who trust what they're told with an open heart.

There's plenty to do on site, so you don't have to leave, and the location is beautiful with excellent service. We like to explore, though, so I'd rent a car. Even a taxi just to the main gate costs $15USD.

The staff were accommodating, especially the golf course team, who were top notch. The golf was amazing, with great ocean views, and the food was good. The waiters and waitresses were top notch too. We stayed in a studio with two full beds, much like a hotel room. There was a bug in the room, but it was easy to take care of. Our AC wasn't working right. A guy spent over an hour in our room, said it was fixed, but it wasn't. After a second visit, the problem still wasn't resolved, and getting them to move us to another room was VERY difficult. They said the timeshare, which they won't call that, was mandatory, which was a massive lie. We finally agreed to go, then got a wake-up call on the day to make sure we were coming. We arrived on time and were told we needed to stay four hours after breakfast or we wouldn't get our “reward.” That felt like a threat, so we decided to skip the whole thing. It's a great place, but be aware they make timeshare arrangements a top priority and bring it up as soon as you check in.

Golfers will have a great vacation here. Playing El Cardonal course by TGR was a bucket-list achievement for me. It was my first time with a caddy, and they helped me get through the round without losing a single ball. That's skill 👏

This may be a golfer's paradise, but my wife and I aren't golfers, and we wouldn't choose to stay here again. Diamante is mainly for golf enthusiasts. It's more like a hotel than a resort, with old buildings, dated rooms and decor that need refreshing or replacement, and old furniture. Even checking in was awful. We're Elite Tafer members, and this place was taken over by TAFER, yet the person at check-in was very reluctant to offer a better or bigger room with a view, despite vacant rooms being available. As members, we didn't appreciate that lack of courtesy. There aren't many restaurants, the choices are very limited, and they're VERY pricey. We had to grocery shop for food and drinks, then went out for dinner each night because there weren't many options. They only left two coffee pods and two bottles of water as a courtesy on the first day. I didn't know that was the policy, so I called the front desk for more coffee and was told they wouldn't provide it. A Motel 8 or Holiday Inn would, I'm sure, provide coffee each day. Uber can't pick you up at the building entrance, which is small and old. To get into town, only taxis are allowed, and they're more than twice the price of Uber. If you take a taxi to the city center, it's $40 to the Marina. You can take an Uber back to the hotel, though, which is the only way for Uber to enter the facilities. The unpaved roads also made the free hotel shuttle to an on-site restaurant a bumpy ride. The beautiful lagoon is huge, but the water is very cold and hardly anyone can use it. There's a small pool and Jacuzzi combination, mostly full of kids, and that's the only other pool available. There's a lot of room for improvement, from the old buildings, rooms, and furniture to the expensive restaurants, rough roads, costly taxis with no Uber pickup, and staff service. This isn't a choice resort to stay at for us, and we won't even think about returning.
