Hotel El Dorado

The bathroom tissue holder came loose and fell off the wall as I tried to use it. It's a small repair, but it left me wondering how well the rest of the room is maintained. I hope management handles these simple fixes so guests are more comfortable.

The hotel is in a good location and has a good reputation, but the service was terrible. My room had no water. They said they were fixing a pump and that it would be back in 10 minutes, but an hour later I was still waiting. I had to ask for another room, and the delay made me more than an hour late. At breakfast I ordered fruit, but the melon had gone bad and the waiter didn't seem to care or offer a replacement. The building feels old and the rooms need updating. With employees who don't seem well trained, the price feels high for what you get.

It's a pleasant place to stop for the night, though it feels dated and could use a facelift. The pet charge seems very unreasonable: 500 pesos per pet, which works out to half the room price.

The customer service was good, but that wasn't enough to make up for the condition of the place. The rooms need repairs and smell very old, while the website photos give a misleading impression. The gym room has no gym equipment, and the shower curtains feel like dollar store quality. I can't understand how previous guests rated it above two stars. If I'd seen a more truthful review, I wouldn't have stayed.
