Hotel Tepehuakan

There are lots of insects around, so I think they should fumigate or use insecticide. Besides that, I had a great stay. The place is quiet, comfortable, clean, and very hygienic, with clean pools and hot water for showers. The manager is attentive and shares some of Malinalco’s history. I also liked the modern touches, including solar panels and a solar water heater. It was a better experience than at other hotels.

The cleanliness and facilities are perfect, 10/10, and the place feels very welcoming. But if you want to sleep at night, it may not be the best choice. There are no set hours for the pool and bar common areas, so loud music can carry late into the night, along with noise from nearby bars.

The room was a good size, had a balcony, hot water, and Netflix on the screen. At $1000 per room, the price seemed good compared with other options. The location and view were good too. It’s not the best place, but you can still have a comfortable stay. Service left a lot to be desired. When we arrived, the man who greeted us didn’t give us the Wi-Fi password or explain the pool, breakfast, or hotel closing times. He didn’t show us to the room either, so we were left with plenty of questions. The air conditioning wasn’t enough for the heat in the afternoon and evening. We visited on December 20th, and I can only imagine how hot it gets in summer. The pool water looked a little green and the pool wasn’t being maintained, even though guests were using it. The different hotel’s pool next door was noticeably cleaner. They also played loud music very early in the morning, which was annoying when we were tired. The mattress was worn and had some pilling.

Just a 10-minute walk from the center, the room was cozy, even if it wasn’t very large. For this area, the price was very affordable.
