The place has a lovely sense of Guanajuato’s history, with beautiful art throughout and lush plants all around. It’s an inn more than 300 years old, but still feels cozy. The hosts are wonderful, breakfast is hearty and delicious, and there are a couple of friendly dogs around. It’s right by the bus and taxi line, too.

The rustic setting is peaceful, and the hotel is conveniently placed for Guanajuato center. I slept well in a comfortable bed and had an amazing homemade breakfast. The owner and staff were genuinely caring and took care of every request.

Thanks for such a delicious lunch at La Casa de Espiritus Alegres. I spent a dreamy afternoon in the shade of those huge pirul and ficus trees, all lovingly looked after by chef and tour-meister Eric Miranda.
