The location made it easy to walk to a late-opening convenience store, a few restaurants, and some really good taco stands. Staff were incredibly quick when we needed towels: a woman came to the door in two minutes, saw there were three of us, and returned with a third blanket about a minute later. The room itself was very basic, with three beds, two full size and one twin, and the mattresses were hard. The bathroom was clean, wifi was available, and the courtyard layout was beautiful. The hotel was very clean and staff were responsive. It’s no-frills and not somewhere I’d come for a vacation, but I’d recommend it if you need a clean place to sleep.

We initially picked it because it was the only pet-friendly option I could find, and I was pleasantly surprised to find off-street parking. The rooms were clean and free of roaches and bed bugs, and someone was on duty around the clock. There are fruit trees and flowers on the property, and the room had a/c. The only downside was the small TV, but watching TV wasn’t why I was there. I’d definitely recommend this place.

I stayed three nights, and even with a truck full of belongings on the last night, nothing happened to it. That had been my main concern, though if anything did happen, I didn’t notice or wasn’t affected. There are people keeping an eye on the property, and it felt peaceful at night and tourist-friendly. The place is well kept and looks like the images. The rooftop garden/patio/grill area is a nice spot to invite people you came to visit and spend time together. There’s a diner two doors from the hotel car entrance, maybe called la catorce? I don’t remember very well, but you can order from your room by asking for the menu. This was the first place I tried, and I loved it. It has a lot of potential and seems like a great place to celebrate your last night in Mexico. It’s not the U.S., but for a border-town Mexican hotel, it’s top of the line. Since it’s the only place I’ve visited, it’s probably my choice unless I find another good one. I’d recommend it to tourists visiting family or just visiting Mexico. Thanks for providing a great place to stay.

After the border crossing took 12 hours, it was dark by the time we got through. We were facing an eight-hour drive and needed a safe place to stop with our dog, or we were considering crossing back. Hacienda del Viejo took my reservation by phone even though my Spanish is broken. It was eight minutes from the crossing, and the parking area was well lit and felt safe. The manager on site was incredibly kind and helpful, and recommended a nearby restaurant that we walked to. The room was basic but clean, and the mattress was new. It’s a 2-star motel, so that’s what I expected. The other guests were friendly Mexican families in the area for Christmas. We managed to fit our truck and small 5x8 trailer, though a larger setup would have issues. My husband and I would absolutely recommend it. Thank you for the stay!

I couldn’t last more than a couple of hours before leaving to find somewhere else. The room smelled strongly of cigarettes, the sheets were very old and didn’t seem clean, there was no wifi, and the TV signal was bad.
