The grounds are limited, so there isn't much room for walks in the forest, and the cabins don't have landscape views. It could work well for a company team gathering, but I'd avoid bringing a large group unless you use nearby locations. Also, check the commercial terms carefully. They may charge you a deposit during your stay, which can catch you off guard.

The grounds were lovely, and my cabin had two comfortable beds. They supplied firewood, toiletries, towels, a hair dryer, coffee and a coffee maker, plus two bottles of water. I was there for two nights on my first visit to Matzamitla. The plaza was an easy ten-minute walk, though for Mexican Independence Day I would've liked to stay closer. There was no Wi-Fi in the room, but they let me use my Wi-Fi in the lobby. I also tried dessert at the restaurant, which was open from 8am to 8pm.

The grounds and cabanas are beautiful, and the prices are good. We had no wood to heat the cabin for half of our first night, and when we returned at 2:30pm the next day, it still hadn't been serviced. They'd left everything we needed on the porch to take care of it ourselves, so...

I was in town for a wedding, and this was a great place to stay. The cabana was comfortable and the service excellent. The restaurant next door was very good and had better prices. It's within walking distance of the plaza and cathedral, with shopping nearby too. You won't be disappointed.

A quiet, clean spot at a handy distance from the city center, without being right in the middle of town. The complex has a very good restaurant, and other places to eat are walkable too. RTV rentals are just outside if you plan to hire one. A great choice for a weekend getaway.
