Hotel Plaza Mazamitla

The two double rooms I was shown were dark, dingy, and cramped, and looked nothing like the Expedia or Booking.com photos. They only have an interior window. I was quoted 520 Mxp for one person per night. The rooms for four, with a double bed and bunk beds, have street-facing windows and cost a frankly ridiculous 1200Mxp. The woman at reception was nice, and the hotel is right by Mazamitla’s main square, which is handy for sightseeing. But it’s terribly noisy day and night: cars go by blasting music, dogs bark, roosters crow, and church bells start ringing as early as 7:00AM. This is a low-budget hotel, more like a hostel. Unless you’re desperate, look elsewhere. There are plenty of hotels in Mazamitla, and when I was there in January 2025, most seemed empty.
