A lovely hotel just a few minutes’ walk from the beach and some great restaurants. Free parking is included too.

Whenever we travel to or through Mazatlan, this is our first choice. We have a one-year-old Great Dane called Astro who travels as my wife’s service dog, so the hotel being pet friendly is a must for us. The whole staff loves having him stay. It’s in Zona Dorada, a very walkable area. Things are a bit pricey because it’s a tourist spot, but the convenience makes it worthwhile. And don’t miss the hot dogs right outside!

A good hotel in a great spot for the malecon, shops, and restaurants. Breakfast was included, the rooms were very clean, and the staff were lovely and helpful. It’s pet friendly too: we could bring our pup to the poolside tables for breakfast, and we locked our bikes in their storage.

It’s not a bad place, but it’s not great either. I’d put it down as a last-minute option, though the free breakfast was really good. The hallways are strangely dark, and our view wasn’t the best, even with a balcony. At checkout my cousin was charged for two towels because she’d left a red hair dye stain. She said she saw a cockroach in her room, and if that had happened to me, I wouldn’t have paid for the towels. Luckily, I never saw one in my room or anywhere else. I don’t think I’d book here again.

We stayed three nights in low season. The room was clean and comfortable, with a small balcony over the family pool. We spent most of our time out and about, and the internet worked fine. I do wish there were a smart TV, as there are only a limited number of cable channels. The location puts you close to the beach, restaurants, and boardwalk. Breakfast was outstanding, with lots of buffet choices, and you can also order room service from the joint café, Moka. The adults’ pool was quiet and temperature controlled, but it gets hot quickly, so avoid swimming there at noon. For the price, you get what you pay for and more if you have breakfast, especially given how near the beach is. Book ahead if you can, since same-day prices can be unnecessarily steep.
