Plaza Marina Mazatlán

I'm here waiting to check out now, and I wish we'd picked another place. On arrival, they assigned us a room that was already occupied, which we only discovered when we went in. We had warm water the first time we showered, but for three of our four nights it was cold. I could put up with that, but my wife and kids couldn't. When I asked what else could be done, they said a pump was damaged. There was no internet for the last four days either. At checkout they tried to charge us for everything, but after the service we'd had because of these problems, I said I wouldn't pay. If your budget allows, look at other options.

We wanted a relaxing stay and got chaos instead. The room was never cleaned, the toilet wouldn't flush, and the door locks failed three times, trapping us inside. Each attempt to repair them made things worse. After a big argument with the receptionist on the third day, we were moved to a room that seemed better at first. Then the shower left it full of sand and flooded the whole place. It took about an hour to fix, and nobody came back to clean up afterward. The pool didn't even have tiles, and my daughter cut her foot. They offered no help and made us walk her up the stairs to the fourth floor. When we left, our car had several scratches and was missing a logo. They never showed us the cameras and said they couldn't help with any of our problems. The administration was very rude when we raised issues. I'll never stay there again and really don't recommend it; they don't solve the problems guests bring to them.

Never going back to Hotel Playa. The service was horrible. Their sign said check-in was at 3 p.m., but I wasn't able to check in until 4. The first room they gave me hadn't even been cleaned. They handed over the second one like they couldn't care less. There were four of us and only two towels, and they had no more to give us. If I could rate them negatively, I would.

Service was good until we arrived at night. The man told us to lower our voices, and we did and followed everything he asked. After that, though, he kept giving us trouble. The way he confronted us was horrible, so we finally just went into the room to get him to leave us alone.
