It’s a very quiet hostel, and my room was clean and comfortable, with its own bathroom. You’re five blocks from the historic centre. There wasn’t really anyone looking after the place, just a volunteer who showed up now and again. The kitchen needs a few more things if you want to cook anything beyond the simplest meal. Good luck with that.

Mario’s hospitality is the best part of this affordable spot in the Centro Historico. He takes time to explain how to get around and answer questions. The rooms are simple, but VERY clean.

The garden is nice, but the place feels a bit old and there were lots of mosquitoes.

A few blocks from the center, and it has what you need for a good stay. The shower water had a minor issue, which is understandable in an old house. Other than that, everything was great.

I liked having the patio as a quiet spot to read or work outside. The room was clean, and the central park is only a block away, though you can’t see it from the room. The location is good. It has a homey, aunt’s-house kind of feel and suits people who want somewhere peaceful and away from noise. There’s room to improve, though. It would be helpful to have someone at reception sometimes, especially for recommendations.
