At 6 pm, we arrived to find the front door locked and several people waiting outside. They said they'd been trying to check in for over an hour. The lobby was dark and empty, with all the curtains shut, and I wondered if the hotel had been abandoned. Calls went unanswered, and banging on the door did nothing. I was looking up other hotels when a confused-looking man finally let us in. He'd apparently been asleep. He unlocked the door, went back behind the desk, and didn't offer anyone help. The attendant, Jose, had a badly stained shirt, smelled of alcohol, had a fading black eye, and was very rude. Nobody helped us with our bags. The WiFi and AC both failed. I could say more, but that's enough. If you're after a terrible hotel experience, this is the place. I'd give it zero stars if I could.

The one thing this place has going for it is the location. There's no AC or heat in the rooms, the beds are hard, and the sheets have holes. The towels looked ten years old, customer service was nonexistent, and there was no parking or bellhop service. The price is comparable to a hotel with all the amenities, so this was extremely disappointing. We won't come back.

The location was the hotel's best feature, close to trendy spots and easy to explore on foot. The neighborhood felt safe and had plenty of options nearby. Hugo, the front desk employee who was there most days, was especially pleasant and helpful. A local chilanga recommended this place, and I was happy with my stay from the start through the final day. Booking was easy, and the room was clean, comfortable, and well supplied. I appreciated having AC and the water bottles replenished daily. The bed setup seemed a little odd, with one matrimonial (full?) bed and one twin, but it worked out fine. I'd recommend it to travelers visiting Mexico City, especially for a few days.

This place was a nightmare. When I called to book, they told me there was an arrangement with a nearby parking lot. On arrival, the receptionist said it closed at 8 pm, so I'd have to park on the street, where the meters only let you pay for up to three hours. When I objected about the lack of parking, he canceled my reservation and threatened to call the police if I didn't leave. I was there with a six-year-old and a nine-year-old, and the older one got so frightened he started crying. I've never been treated so badly.

The hotel itself was fine, but they charged my card more than the Booking.com reservation amount and spoiled the stay. The clerk said the extra was for taxes and a double room, though my confirmation showed the quoted price included taxes and covered a double room. Booking.com tried to reach the hotel and got ignored. I planned to dispute the charge, but an update: Booking.com refunded the difference to my credit card.
