The house has so much character, from the chandeliers in the bathrooms to the hand-carved designs on the bed’s footboard. I loved the antique atmosphere, and hearing its history made me appreciate how well the place has been preserved. I paid $38 a night, which felt like a steal. It offers hotel services, though housekeeping isn’t daily unless you ask for it. It’s in a safe area with a more authentic city feel, and it doesn’t have the tourist crowds of Roma Norte or Polanco. I came back around 1am to an empty but well-lit street and felt safe. There’s someone on site around the clock, and getting into the building involves two steps, first being buzzed in and then scanning at another gate. This isn’t a sleek modern hotel, it suits people who enjoy antiques and history. I’d definitely stay again.

I had a great stay in this well-preserved Porfiriato house. The location was good, but what really stood out were the two women who clean and look after the house. They’re lovely, welcoming, attentive, and provide top-notch service. Muchas gracias, señoras. Please leave them a tip, they’re so kind and thoughtful.

The rooms were comfortable, and the guesthouse has a kitchen, dining room, and living room for everyone to use. The man who welcomed us was friendly and attentive, and showed us around the house. Getting there was easy. It’s close to Buenavista metro station and the shopping center, and the location is excellent.

I booked an apartment through Expedia, but when I arrived I was told there were no rooms left. The person renting it out apparently lists it in different places without checking whether it’s already been booked. They kept my money and wouldn’t take responsibility or refund me. They’re scammers. Don’t stay here.
