We got there and found nobody at the hotel. WhatsApp was the only way to reach anyone, which is ridiculous for a place calling itself a hotel. It took 10 minutes to get a first reply, and we couldn’t get anyone on the phone at all. My bank said the reservation had been cancelled, but nobody had told me, not even on WhatsApp. After half an hour of going back and forth there, I’d had enough. The reception area where we waited looked nothing like the photos. It was an ordinary, very dated house with narrow corridors, and I couldn’t see any emergency exit. All in all, a very bad experience.

I had a horrible experience, starting with how they handle extra nights. You can’t book an additional night directly with the hotel, only through Booking. They offer promotions on certain rooms or for certain clients. I booked three different rooms, but the hotel refused to honor the Booking amounts. They said they didn’t charge those rates, even though they use Booking for reservations. The amounts already included taxes and extra fees. What upset me is that they wouldn’t respect the prices on the only site they use for bookings, then told me to take it up with Booking customer service. I did, and customer service agreed the hotel shouldn’t be charging those amounts. Condesa 185 still refused to refund me or admit it had scammed its clients. On top of that, the phone and Wi-Fi signal were horrible, some TVs worked, and the rooms weren’t properly cleaned. Even if another place costs more, I’d look elsewhere. What seems like a good deal can turn into a huge headache dealing with them.

Nobody was there when we arrived, and we lost hours trying to figure out what was going on. I tried every phone number and email I could find without getting a response. We had to walk around and find somewhere else to stay, and I still haven’t heard a word about our booking. This doesn’t feel like a legitimate hotel. 🙄

Even though I’d already booked and paid, there was no staff member to help me check in. It took ages before I finally got a room.
