Courtyard by Marriott Mexico City Revolucion

The lobby is beautiful, and the double rooms are spacious. I liked the layout: the shower and toilet are together, while the sink and closets are in a separate room behind another door, which gives you a decent amount of privacy. The gym was fairly nice for a hotel. The breakfast buffet, though, was quite expensive.

The location is kind of good and the rooms are average, but pay attention to the service. I’m currently a platinum member in marriott, and this is by far the worst place I’ve stayed. Employees came into my room without warning or a reason. Breakfast was charged in full, and it didn’t seem like loyal members got any benefits.

The one person who was truly kind and caring was Juan, the security/bellman. The rest of this stay was horrible and unpleasant. I travel a lot and have stayed at many Marriott hotels around the world, but this is by far the worst Marriott branded one for me. The front desk staff and manager were rude and ignorant, and seemed not to care about customers, including their Platinum customers. There were no upgrades or perks, and I didn’t feel I got value.

If you’re taking the Metro, get off at San Pedro de Los Pinos and walk from there, rather than getting off at Tacubaya Station. Tacubaya felt sketchy as hell, especially at night. I made the walk from San Pedro de Los Pinos at night, and it felt significantly less sketchy. The sidewalk was still quiet, but there was lots of car traffic going by, so you never felt completely alone.
