Dinner on the terrace was a highlight, especially the view of Chapultepec's Castle and forest. Jesús and Emanuel were friendly and shared interesting information about the castle and the area. The food was delicious: we had tapas, a berries salad, tampiqueña, and crepes, which Jesús made at our table. It was my first visit to the Hilton garden inn polanco, and I felt especially welcome throughout. When my wife and I got out of our Uber, Bryant the bellman greeted us and helped with our bags. I can’t remember the young man at the front desk, but he was just as helpful and hospitable. Thanks to the whole staff.

My room wasn’t five-star, but Alejandro’s service at breakfast made a real difference. He was wonderful, kept checking in, and was always attentive. I’d come back just for that service. Muchas gracias.

The breakfast really wasn’t worth the money. There were barely any choices, and the food wasn’t good. The pastries tasted stale, there was only sliced loaf bread, and the little fruit available wasn’t tasty. I hardly ate anything. My room was tiny, with barely enough room for my luggage. There was no hot water the first night, though I don’t know why. I was tired, went to sleep, and it worked fine the next morning. The carpet was old, and someone on the cleaning staff spilled cleaning product on it, leaving it wet and smelling of cleaner. The staff were pleasant, but didn’t seem to know much. I won’t stay here again.

The rooms were super clean, the service was the best, and breakfast had a really pleasant atmosphere. The place is also close to lots of spots. My only complaints are the shower heads and that I asked for a ninth-floor room but got one on the fifth.

The best part of this stay was bartender Alejandro, who gave me excellent attention. Everything else left me convinced I won’t come back. The housekeeping was a problem almost every day, and when I raised it, I always got the same answer: “We will take a note.” My room wasn’t cleaned thoroughly, the coffee kit and cups weren’t replaced daily, and the towels were old and rough. I had to ask for face or hand towels, too. The shower door was broken and kept coming off its rail. I reported from the first day that the A/C wasn’t cooling enough. They said maintenance had been told, but it wasn’t fixed until I brought it up again the next day. Then it broke down again the day before checkout. One night, when I went to the front desk, one of the clerks smelled strongly of marijuana. This hotel doesn’t meet Hilton standards, especially for what you pay per night.
