Holiday Inn Mexico Dali Airport by IHG

I rated the service very low because we were charged twice for our five-night April stay, and no one will take responsibility or fix it. The correct charge was 18,000 Mexican pesos. Another 14,000 pesos was billed on April 23 and remained on my card for more than a month, accruing at 68% APR. That's an $800 overcharge at that rate. IHG corporate acknowledged it, but says the hotel must resolve it. The hotel says it can't do anything and sends me to my bank. The bank says we have to wait 30 days before they stop payment. Management won't stop the charge or credit us. If you stay at an IHG hotel, especially a Holiday Inn, beware. Pay cash and don't let them have your card number. It's a shame a major international company handles business this way.

Room service came through at 1 am with a very cold beer and an excellent burger, quickly. Breakfast was a delight too: I put yummy cheese on runny fried eggs and four hash browns. They were somehow crunchy all the way through, like an inch-thick chip, without leftover oil. Well done, cooky. The room was spacious, clean, and functionally elegant, with a nice view of the surroundings. It's about a 10-minute drive from the airport. Staff were friendly, fast, and on point, extremely efficient for Mexico. In a country that lives yesterday and tomorrow, they were present for what I needed today. Quite nice, actually.

The tacos at the restaurant were very good, and the service was good too. I chose the hotel for one night near the airport while connecting through CDMX. It was convenient, and the room was okay, but outside noise from the lobby came through easily. I had to wear earplugs to sleep.

I've stayed here several times, and the staff have always been kind, attentive, and quick with requests. The rooms are tidy and clean, and the buffet breakfast is complete and delicious. You can also ask the chef to make a nice omelet. Being less than 10 minutes from the airport is convenient when there's no traffic.
