Hostal Amigo Suites

I got there at 11:30pm, and the man at reception initially said he could find my reservation. Once it turned 12am, he told me the hotel was completely full and had no rooms available. That’s a terrible way to treat customers.

It’s an older building, but the rooms were clean and the staff really friendly. The location is great too, about a 5-minute walk from Plaza de la Constitucion.

We had a spacious, clean room with a private bathroom and a small balcony. The staff checked every day whether we wanted the room cleaned, which was nice, and there was free coffee. The hotel is in a great central location, and although the street was right below the balcony, nights were quiet. Noise started around 5 am, but it didn’t bother us. The downside was the late 3pm check-in. We arrived at 8am after a very long flight and were exhausted. We asked to check in early if we paid extra, but still had to wait until 3pm. They should also provide free water. Apart from that, we had a good stay and recommend it.

NO RUNNING WATER! Don’t stay here. Our room’s window wouldn’t close all the way, so mosquitoes got in. The mattresses were disgusting, and the sheets were too small to cover them. There were no mattress pads or towel racks, not enough towels, and no washcloths. There’s no A/C, fans, elevator, or breakfast either. For $130 US/night for a four-person room, this place is missing a lot. I’d give it 0/5 if I could.
