Hotel El Estadio

The location is the best thing about this hotel. The rooms are cramped and feel like they haven't been refurbished in decades, from the old furniture and details to the single outlet, which sits high above a mirror. The bathroom puts the toilet, sink, and shower together in one space, making it especially uncomfortable to use. Noise travels easily between rooms, so you can hear others and they can hear you. The place needs a major overhaul.

For what it costs, this is good value. The location is great, and my room was quiet, though I can't say whether the other rooms are.

October 2024: I was skeptical at first after reading so many negative reviews, but I had a good stay and would come back. Roma Norte is right around you, with taco places, coffee shops, restaurants, and a bus stop close by. Walking around at night felt calm and peaceful. The room was a decent size, clean, and plain, with just two outlets. Nothing fancy, but fine for the price. I liked the shower too. The only odd thing was hearing someone having sex, and she was really loud, lol. For the cost, it was just okay, but I liked it.

The room looked nice enough in the end if you could ignore the bugs and a questionable smell. After a long day traveling and exploring Mexico City, we checked in and soon found cockroaches all over our first room. The receptionist was pleasant and quickly moved us, but a few minutes later we had to tell him the new room had them too. His frantic maid told us they knew the whole hotel was infested and couldn't do anything about it. We wound up sharing a room with our friends down the hall, three people to a bed, to avoid whatever diseases might have been in our own sheets. The room and common area hadn't looked bad at first, but this was an unforgettable experience, and definitely not for the faint of heart.
