nice apt. Roma CDMX :)

There are food places everywhere, the rooms are clean, the staff are friendly, and the neighbors are nice. The location is excellent for walking, and an Uber to AICM cost 200 MXN. I took a star off the room for two things. Mosquitoes meant I had to seal it up at night, leaving it stuffy by morning. Window nets would help, instead of spraying poison. Also, the lighting needs moving: in room 304, a light belongs by the bed’s head rather than its foot, and the other should be over the mirror by the entrance. Even with those issues, it’s a great place to stay.

Great for a short stay, with excellent service and a convenient location. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants within walking distance, and I always felt safe at night. The place is clean, the staff and other guests are friendly, and Karen was especially nice. There’s a shared kitchen, lounge, and roof too. Recommend!

It’s a good value if you want some comfort without spending too much. Colmena Tonalá sits between a hostel and a hotel: you get your own room and bathroom, while sharing the living room and kitchen with other travelers. That makes it a nice place to meet people. Check-in and checkout were smooth. There are lots of coffee shops and restaurants nearby, and the subway is about a 7-10 minute walk away. I felt safe walking around, even at night.

Room 101 was the worst room I’ve ever had for sound isolation. It felt like sleeping in the street: every car, motorcycle, and loud person nearby came through. The room is right behind the main entrance, so you hear people coming and going, the bell when they don’t have keys, the door banging open and shut, and all the talking. It’s also close to the living room, where the TV and conversation sounded like people were sitting right there with me. I had to wait until everyone was asleep and the streets were empty before I could rest, and even then I needed earplugs all night for a little peace. That was rare in this horrible room. The staff were nice, but the location and noise insulation made for a very bad stay. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone wanting a good night’s sleep.
