Stayinn Barefoot Condesa

It's an economical spot in Chapultepec, with cafes, oxxo and seven eleven all within a kilometre. The atmosphere is really good and the staff are friendly and speak English. You can choose a private room or a dorm bed, and the place is neat and clean. Breakfast is available. There's also a shared kitchen for making your own food, coffee, or tea, and they provide filtered drinking water.

A park nearby is a must-see, and getting around by any kind of transport is convenient from here. The staff are friendly and breakfast is pretty good for starting the day. It's a modern hostel, but it gets quite noisy: sound carries easily through the central column, and the bar on the top floor plays music at random times of day.

Overpriced and dirty, with construction going on the whole time I was there. The kitchen couldn't be used, and there was a bar on the roof blasting music until 3am whenever you wanted to sleep. I spent most of the time at friends' places despite paying for the hostel. Then they charged me for an extra night because I checked out after 12, even though the hostel was completely empty and had been for most of my stay. Nobody else was in my six-bed room. Terrible experience. Don't.

The staff are friendly and it's pet-friendly, but I wouldn't recommend it if you expect to sleep at night. A club next door and noisy, rude guests make it super loud. The rooms are very close together and there's little or no sound insulation. People smoke in their rooms, and the cigarette smoke drifts into yours. That's annoying and a health hazard if you don't smoke at all.
