Suites Monterrey by Escajal Suites

The location is amazing, and the room was clean with decent amenities and lots of storage. We got entry codes for the front door and our room, so there was no check-in, which worked for us. Just know the front desk is usually empty. We stayed six nights and didn’t get fresh towels or any cleaning in between. The shower kept switching between hot and cold, and the walls and doors are so thin you hear everything. There are no windows, either. All together, though, it was definitely worth it.

Good location, but the price didn’t match the service or room. It was extremely hot inside, around 27°C even in autumn, with no windows for ventilation and only small fans. There were just two pillows for the two of us, which made things uncomfortable. I wouldn’t stay again or recommend it. We arrived with no instructions for entering the building or checking in, and no staff were there, despite the listing claiming a 24-hour front desk. We waited about 40 minutes for a reply by WhatsApp or phone. Another guest let us in, and only after trying several phone numbers did I get an access code. No one answered the number listed at reception for a long time. The communication was extremely delayed, not that I never received a code. Management said they couldn’t send messages through Agoda, but I’ve received check-in instructions from other properties that way, so that didn’t seem true. Their response felt dismissive rather than apologetic. I also tried messaging the property through the booking platform and never got a reply, even to this day.

The rooms are small, but clean, and there’s a shared kitchen with a fridge. The front desk was always helpful, and I thought it was great value for money. I’d definitely recommend it.

It’s an affordable place in Roma Norte, with helpful staff and a handy location close to lots of cafes and restaurants. The rooms are really small and the furniture feels pretty cheap, but it isn’t expensive. There’s no air conditioning in the units, only in the hallway.
