The hotel was super cute, and in my experience local hotels tend to do well with customer service and location. We mainly needed a place to sleep, and the towels and sheets were fresh and clean. I did keep in mind that water is scarce in this part of the country, though the hotel could use a deep clean. It’s charmingly located too, with Xochipilli and several restaurants within walking distance, and you can pretty much walk anywhere from there.

The room was clean and the A/C got really cold, though the mattresses could use replacing. I liked the colonial feel, with a different theme in every room, and the church across the street dates back to the colony. There are also lots of the usual shops you find in a historic district or downtown. La Parroquia, the indoor restaurant at the hotel, had great food and a lovely antique atmosphere, but service was slow with only one server.

I mostly picked this hotel because it was handy for shopping nearby. The beds were so hard that I couldn’t sleep, and I had to ask for pillows. If we hadn’t already reserved it, we would’ve moved to a hotel with softer beds. I’d rather sleep comfortably and get a good night’s rest.

Everything worked, and the A/C was great. I had a great stay here, and the manager Daniel was friendly, professional, and caring. I’d highly recommend Olimpia to everyone.
