Fiesta Inn Monterrey Fundidora

Update: management sent someone to repair the air conditioning in our room after I spoke with them, so I've raised the rating to 3 stars. Still, changing rooms and then spending a night in a stuffy one was a real hassle. They need to make sure all the facilities work properly. We wanted to like this hotel, but the rooms stayed hot and stuffy because the air conditioning either didn't work well or seemed blocked. Turning it down didn't cool the room, and the second room we tried had the same problem. Next time we're in Monterrey, we'll look elsewhere.

The pool was lovely, and the view from there was amazing. The fitness center was clean and had good equipment, and the staff were respectful and helpful. My room was very clean, the shower and beds were big, and everything felt high quality. It's a great hotel, five stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The laundry charge ruined my stay. After three weeks there, I asked whether they had a washing machine and was told the hotel could wash clothes. The form they gave me had four sections, including one that clearly said “no additional charge,” so I thought it was free. I brought in a small bag of laundry. Only after it was finished did they tell me I owed 3052 Mexican pesos. If they had explained the price, I would have taken it across the street and paid $2/$3 to wash it myself. Instead, I had to pay $160 Canadian dollars to get my laundry back. I felt totally scammed, especially after being friendly and tipping the staff very well throughout my stay. Even after I explained I'd been there three weeks, the best they offered was 20% off. I won't stay there again when I return to Monterrey in about six months, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. They lost a good customer. The food was absolutely terrible. I ordered every meal through Uber eats because the hotel food was inedible. I did have some good moments, and most of the staff were pretty nice.

The service was consistently lacking, and the staff seemed overwhelmed and short staffed. Still, I felt safe and comfortable throughout my stay as a woman traveling alone, which mattered a lot to me. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and I liked the buffet and pool. It's also well placed for restaurants, Fundidora Park, and Uber access.
