Hotel 5a Avenida

The overnight staff, especially the girl, were really kind, and I loved having hot water in the shower. But breakfast was limited to eggs, coffee, and toast. I don’t really like eggs, and coffee with toast wasn’t enough for me. The room was small, and the shower even tighter. My boyfriend is really tall and had a hard time getting in and out and using the toilet because of the lack of space. We chose this place partly because its listed services included laundry, but when we asked, they said they didn’t offer it.

I regret booking three days here. After traveling from Houston to Monterrey, I was exhausted and hoped to sleep, but the faulty A/C made a very loud noise whenever it was on. I could barely hear the TV at full volume. I eventually fell asleep on the hard bed, then woke a couple of hours later to complain. They said all the rooms had the same problem and nothing could be done. The hotel only allowed two very small towels per day, even with two people booked in the room, because of low supply and high demand. I asked for a refund. The manager, or whoever he was, was short, with a large complex, and assured me he’d provide the possible customer service and apologized, but nothing was done to fix the repeat problems. The hotel also didn’t respect the “Do Not Disturb” sign. Later I realized my GoPro Camera was gone. I’m sure it was taken. I left it in a specific spot in the room, never took it outside the hotel, and it disappeared. I’m back home in Houston now, and luckily I can make a police report against these thieves. Very bad service and a horrible experience.

It felt like staying in a jail. The toilet was hard to use, the shower space was extremely narrow, and they provided only soap, no shampoo. A horrible experience.

Dirty in many places, with a tobacco smell. The air conditioning machine was loud and vibrated all night. It was dirty and noisy, I couldn't sleep, and the tobacco odor was awful.
